We also have new "babies" at our house. Morgan is so interested in these new baby birds. We found one of the blue robbin eggs on our patio. We have watched over these little birds all weekend. It is very sweet ... and so educational.

Where has this year gone!!

It was just yesterday I was teaching Kindergarten and found out we were having a little girl ... NOW she, Morgan, is headed to KINDERGARTEN! This has been a great first year of "real school". It just seems impossible that it has ended.

Drew won't be far behind...You start to realize how fast it goes when you have a second one catching up quickly!

She got her SECOND trophy and she was so excited! Drew is going to miss the soccer games on Saturdays. He loved cheering Morgan on and RUNNING all over the fields!

Here are TWO VERY IMPORTANT reasons I LOVE being a MOM! What a great Mother's Day we had ...

Drew washing "his ride"! He is getting ready for his daily tractor rides around the pool!

Morgan had her JrKindergarten play and did SO GOOD! She was a redbird ... and the cutest redbird we have ever seen! She had a speaking part and did GREAT!

Morgan also had Grandparent's Day at school. ALL the grandparents went to USJ and had a personal tour of Morgan's classroom, the school and then a small musicial to finish it off. Drew and I were at home baking brownies and getting lunch ready for the special group!

All together... do you think they are loved or what!!!

Spring is FINALLY here!!

I guess with all the great SPRING weather (minus the tornadoes) we were all missing Maddie a little ...

Aunt Sarah gave us a great idea. She told us to write a letter to Maddie and attach a balloon to it so it could fly to heaven. So, Morgn and Drew wrote her a letter BUT Morgan wanted to write one to Tennessee as well. I think the following pictures will let you see how great this idea was...

One small problem ... Drew couldn't understand why the balloon was not coming back ...

We have had a busy start to our SPRING ... but, we would not have it any other way! Sorry for the long post.

Morgan and Drew had a wonderful time at her JrK Easter Egg Hunt at Dutch Gardens. Amy and Bos were so nice to "let" Drew hunt eggs too!

Here is Morgan with some of her friends (and Drew) from her class! We can't believe Kindergarten is only 6 WEEKS AWAY! Where has the year gone?

They each had to find 22 eggs with their names on them. We came home with 11 because Morgan said she was helping everybody else find theirs ... that is a sweet reason not to have all of your eggs!

Then, on Friday, we headed to Memphis to the Zoo. It was a perfect (quiet and not busy) day! This was the first time both children could enjoy it! Drew and Julie met us down there and surprised Morgan and Drew with a basket FULL of Easter goodies! So sweet ...

Saturday before Easter is the Annual Wilhite Egg Hunt. We are so excited to be part of this great family. They are always so sweet to invite us to join them whenever they have a family function. As usual, we had a GREAT TIME!!

We got these boots to wear at the Wilhite Egg Hunt but it ended up not being muddy. Drew LOVES his "fugg" boots! He has even slept in them! Pick your battles ...

Then, FINALLY, the Easter Bunny CAME!!

This is the only picture I could get with Morgan and Drew looking and smiling at the camera (notice Rosetta, the fairy, had to join in). Drew has on Adam's shirt he wore when he was little.

AND ... we are making progress on the new house!! We are so excited! Morgan and Drew are LOVING playing in all the sand and dirt in the backyard. It is a little child's piece of heaven ... if they like the dirt like ours do!

Morgan's First DATE

Morgan had her first "date" this past weekend ... with her Daddy! It was the Daddy Daughter Dance at school. They started the night by eating dinner at Dumplin's (she said,"I even ate dumplins!"). They met 8 of her friends and their dads! Then they all headed to the dance. It was given by the 11th grade class at the High School. The High School boys escorted her in.... where they even had a coat check. Her words exactly ... "They had a real, alive Cinderella and a man gave me a rose! And it was pink!"

She and Adam danced, socialized and had a few snacks. They were home by 8:30 and WORN OUT! What a great night! Don't you wish you could have been a fly on the wall?

Valentine's Day

Fourteen, yes 14, years ago I was excited to annouce ... "I'm engaged"! I am so happy my best friend asked me to marry him at my little apartment in Germantown. It has been a wonderful journey!

Today, on the other hand, our house is excited to see cupcakes, cookies, brownies and ICING! Morgan and I cooked while Drew napped. Aunt Sarah and Uncle Buck brought us Valentine cookies shaped like hearts and Lightning McQueen! They were so good!

Drew found the icing ... here is the proof!

Don't think Morgan didn't get her fairshare of "sweets" ....

Of course, she had someone else wanting a little bite .... MADDIE!!

We hope your Valentines was as SWEET as ours!

Meet "Macy" the Snowgirl

Morgan (or maybe Adam) decided to make a snowman! It was our last day of the snow ... so they wanted to finish with a bang!

This is what ended up happening ... Morgan and Drew "got cold" (this was the view from the inside).

But ... meet Macy! Morgan put a "M" apron on her just as our neighbors drove by and honked! Guess who was in the car ... our sweet little friend MACY! So, meet our Macy!

Snow Days!

We had a GREAT couple of days (and maybe another to come) of SNOW! This was the first time Drew was able to enjoy the snow. Morgan, of course, couldn't get enough! I think the pictures show what a great time we had. Uncle Buck and Aunt Sarah came over and enjoyed sledding with us!

The New Year is here and we can't believe it! Where did 2009 go? What a year we had (and every bit of it was great)! We hope 2010 will be just as wonderful!

We did start the new year out with a bang ... literally! Drew was sitting in his booster seat at the kitchen table when he decided to lean. The problem was ... it wasn't attached to the chair. So, he fell with a BANG! His first black eye! This picture was taken a couple days after so his swelling had gone down a bit.

Then we had our first "snow" and Morgan was out for a SNOW DAY! The disappointing part was that it was only a dusting! Not really much snow! But, she loved it. (She is now loving that our pool is frozen around the edges.)

Here is a picture or Morgan and Drew eating their "breakfast"! What better for breakfast than snow creme and animals crackers. Notice Lightning McQueen is enjoying the snow as well!

This has been a WONDERFUL year! We can't wait to see what 2010 will bring ...

The children LOVED every part of Christmas this year. They are at such a great age to really enjoy it! It seems to get better each year ...

Drew LOVED his new Lightning McQueen "ATV" Santa brought him. We all can't wait to take it outside when it gets a little warmer!

Morgan got a new DS from Santa. She was so surprised and has not put it down since the 25th!

She was very into making her own "hair wear" this season!

Sug makes chocolate Gingerbread houses every year. Drew was especially excited about ours this year. He would sneak in the kitchen, move the stool and climb up when no one was watching just to grab another M&M!

Happy Birthday Drew! We can't believe you are 2!

He loved his CARS cake, his birthday guests and all his gifts that he received! He is a very lucky boy!

We started the morning out at the soccer fields. Morgan had her very last game (it was a make-up game). This is how Drew spent his morning ... on Pops' shoulder!

Morgan scored her VERY FIRST GOAL at this game! She was so excited! When we got to her after the game, she said ... "I scored my first goal on Drew's birthday!" .... it brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face! So sweet!

It was also the day they got TROPHIES! Whew, what a group of excited children!!

Today was Morgan's first soccer game and she did good! It was tough being her first game EVER ... they have so many rules they have to learn! We are so proud of her!

We had our first soccer practice today ... Go Wolves! We only have one more practice before our first game! The kids did so good. I think we have some really good athletes on our team!

Uncle Buck and Aunt Sarah came over Friday night to celebrate Morgan's birthday with us! They got her the CUTEST pink and white golf shoes ... yes, REAL golf shoes! They also got her a cute little pink golf shirt with precious little madris shorts ... of course, they were pink too!

We had to go outside to "practice" in our new golf outfit to see how we played! What a great night! The next morning we headed to Chic-fil-A and she wore them with her pajamas!

Well, today was THE DAY! Morgan's first day at Big Girl School. She was so excited to go to USJ this morning!

Happy 12th Anniversary!

Adam and I had a great 12th Anniversary ... yes, 12th! Has it been that long?! Adam had a conference in Amelia Island and I tagged along! Where we stayed welcomed each of us with a glass of champagne when we got there and then placed this very neat chocolate design on EVERYTHING for 2 days!

Before our wonderful dinner at SALT ...

Adam had this waiting for me when we got to our room ... 2 dozen roses and our very first bottle of vino we bought years ago (not the actual bottle ... he purchased the same one ... yes, they had it!)

We even got to play GOLF!!

Sorry this is so small ... but you have to see the dolphins! They swam about 25 yards out from the beach. Even when people were swimming in the ocean they were still comfortable enough to swim just yards away ... so sweet!!

And the sunrise we saw each morning .... so peaceful!

Happy 12th Anniversary Adam ... I love you bunches! You made our anniversary perfect (even though you had to go to your conferences!)

We were both happy to see our babies though .....

Morgan's "New" Old Bed

Morgan got a "new" old bed. She calls it her WINDLE bed! This spindle bed was made for her great, great, great, great Uncle. So for her to call it her "new" bed ... is kind of cute!

Yesterday, Drew found a new spot to eat his poptarts ... on the patio, under the sweet potato vine on the planter!

Today, Morgan decided to KICK Drew off the couch and Drew decided to hit the coffee table. I have to say ... I am not use to boys and the bumps and bruises we are going to have.

I usually don't do very well with blood ... but I made it (this is my robe with Drew's blood on it)!

Drew and Morgan wanted to be just like Daddy and Uncle Buck ....

the older sibling makes a mark (scar) to show love to the younger sibling!

I guess they will both always think of their older siblings when they see their matching scars!

We always try to do something fun when Adam has night clinic. So, tonight, we PAINTED!

This was Drew's very first time to use paint!

It was so neat to see him "investigate" the paint. His investigation even included tasting it ...

Our 1st BEACH trip of the season

We just got back from our first beach trip of the summer! We had so much fun spending time with Adam on his days off. We did almost NOTHING the entire time we were there! What a great vacation!! We went to the beach, swam in the pool and went to SuperTarget! Yes, Morgan and I found a SuperTarget while we were there!

The days were so nice. It was sunny, windy and 75 degrees ... perfect. I say "perfect" because neither Morgan nor Drew got hot or sunburned while we were there. So, for a mom, that is perfect! Here are some fun pictures to show what we did!

This was the first time Drew could walk in the sand ...

And I think it wore him out (along with Adam) ...

After a quick lunch break, off to the beach again. Can you only imagine what is going through her head ...

Morgan's (Last) Playschool Program

Today was Morgan's last Playschool Program (until she goes to watch her little brother)! She did a great job. All the songs she has been singing at home the past couple of months all came to life. You can't get much cuter than preschool church songs ...

So, I hear my mom say it often ... "Where has it gone?" and by this, she means the TIME! I look back on these pictures today because they are the pictures of Morgan heading to Playschool for the first time in 2006. Today is her LAST real day at Playschool. (She still has her End of the Year Progam on Friday.) She will be headed off to "Big Girl School" in the fall. To me ... she looks like a baby in these pictures (because she was -- 2 years and 2 weeks old)! Make sure and check out how clean and fresh Cupcake looks in the pictures!

This was the beginning of her "I can do it" stage ... packing her backpack for school!

My Little Gardener ...

Meet my little gardener ...

She loves to dig, plant and water anything in the backyard that looks like a flower. There is one specific thing she checks on daily and here it is ...

Our rose bushes had SO MANY roses on them we had to pick them today (in the rain - you can still see the raindrops on them if you look close) to have room for more to grow ... so the gardener said! We are truly enjoying the smell of the roses in our house on this rainy day! April (and May) showers bring such beautiful flowers!!

Big Sister ... Little Brother

I was FINALLY able to get Morgan and Drew smiling in their Big Sister and Big Brother t-shirts. I always think they are so cute when they wear these matching little outfits. I got Drew dressed for bed and Morgan wanted the exact same "jammies". So, after baths, washing hair and brushing their teeth, they "posed" for a quick picture (or two or three).

Caitlin and Laura invited us to go the Memphis Zoo Saturday morning and we are so glad they did ...

We all were so excited to be there! It was a beautiful day!

We first have to show the reason why we love the zoo so much ... the MEERCATS! They are our favorite. Morgan even told them "Smile, Meercats, Smile"!

The gorilla was at the window when we visited him. Caitlin is yelling "SHOOO" and Morgan is holding her nose. (They did have a great zoo smell!) Drew loved getting so close.

If you look close, you can see the hippos taking a nap at the children's feet!

This was the first time Drew was able to enjoy the zoo (and really see the animals). He was even able to get out and walk around a little.

This was right before the sealion show. We love Chloe BECAUSE "She recycles" (Morgan says)!! During the show, Chloe (the femaile sealion) threw some trash in the recycling bin and Morgan thought that was neat --- it was pretty impressive for a 200lb sealion.

Thanks Caitlin for inviting us!! We had a great time ... although we were stuck on the interstate coming home ... 2 miles in 50 minutes --- whew!! We were glad to be home!

I say "hunts and birthdays" because it was a weekend FULL of Easter Egg Hunting and Birthdays!!

The first one was at Morgan's Playschool. I was able to watch her in her "world" at school. Here she and all her friends are singing Spring songs. This one is Little Bunny FooFoo!

Drew loved being a BIG BOY at school too!

We also had a BOLIVAR hunt!! This hunt has been going on for years. It is at a historic graveyard (yes, graveyard) they open just for the Wilhite family every year. It is the neatest hunt!! The brothers (Sarah's dad and uncles) hide the eggs for the children. The GREEN EGGS have the special prizes in them ... MONEY!! So, Morgan wanted the green and pink eggs!! Drew just wanted the candy out of all of them!

Adam and I were in Nashville this weekend for a wedding (and had a GREAT time) and returned home to 13 inches of BEAUTIFUL SNOW! Morgan and Drew stayed with Pops and Honey and had a great time. Of course, Morgan wanted to get out in the snow last night but she waited until she woke up this morning. She didn't last too long outside at their house ... 10 minutes to get dressed and 5 minutes to play!!

Adam, Morgan and Maddie headed outside as soon as we got home! Drew REALLY wanted to get out there with them but it was just too cold. He enjoyed the snow that Morgan brought in to him and GIRL SCOUT THIN MINTS (just like Adam)!

Once everyone was in and warm, we made Snow Cream! What a great day!!

Valentine's Day felt like Christmas around here this weekend! All the grandparents came and visited Morgan and Drew with sweet little gifts! They loved all of them. Morgan's penpal from Florida, Lauren, sent her a cute little packet of goodies in the mail. She was so excited!

Aunt Sarah and Uncle Lanier brought Morgan and Drew some things that didn't stick around too long ... CUPCAKES and JELLY BEANS! As you can see, they LOVED them!

This was Drew's first cupcake and he loved EVERY little bit of it!!

Our First Snow for 2009

We woke up to SNOW this morning! It is the first SNOW OF THE YEAR! Morgan was so excited to get her "gear" on and head outside. We had to wait until Drew took his morning nap because it was just too cold for him to go outside.

As you can see, she thought she had to wait "FOREVER"!

But, it was worth it!!

We then came in and Drew got up from his nap. We had SNOW for our morning snack. Morgan (of course) loved it. Drew did not ...

But, he did like playing in it with his spoon!

Morgan and Stella were only 2 months old the first time we went. Now they are four!! The past couple of years Madeline and Preston (Miller) have joined us.

Saturday night we took Morgan (our little poodle) and Drew (our little golden retriever) to the Zoo Boo in Memphis.
We are so glad we took them. They had a great time...

Pops and Honey took them to the
Church Octoberfest on Sunday night.
It sounded like all four of them had a wonderful time!

Morgan named herself "Eclair" like the french poodle on Strawberry Shortcake. She named Drew "Cupcake" like the little dog on Strawberry Shortcake and HER VERY OWN CUPCAKE (we all know and love)!!

Drew and I were waiting for Morgan to wake up from her nap yesterday when I caught this cute fall picture! Adam and I can't believe how much he has grown ... 4 teeth (plus 2 more on the way) and a comb over!! What a little man ....

When Morgan woke up from her nap, we headed to GYMNASTICS! It was her first time and she was so excited! (By the way... she is hiding her HEALTHY snack -- a cinnamon sugar Pop Tart -- what an athlete!)

Yesterday morning Morgan gave us a little scare. When she woke up she had a little cough and low grade fever. So, we gave her some medicine and she seemed fine. Within an hour she looked like this ...

Within 10 minutes, she was having trouble breathing and said her lips were "stinging"! She looked 10 times worse than this -- I couldn't see her eyelashes or eyes! As you can imagine, I got a little nervous. I couldn't get in touch with Adam... so ... I called Lisa (our next door neighbor and friend --- who happens to be a pediatrician). She called Dr. Woods for us and told us to get there FAST! When we got to the clinic, Dr. Woods was waiting for us with medicine. Within an hour, Morgan's swelling had gone down.

She is much better today. Almost back to "normal" and her swelling has almost gone! We still don't know what caused this reaction but hopefully it will never happen again!!

a. I have "colored" my hair for 15 years (every 6-8 weeks)... the kicker ... I flew home from KC to Memphis to do it while we lived in Kansas!! Adam gives me a hard time for doing it but it was really to see my family (and get my hair done).

b. The children around the world that were born the day Adam and I started dating are now DRIVING!!

c. I started blow drying my daughter's hair when she was only 4 months old! It was in the winter ... I didn't want her to catch a cold!! ha!!

d. I don't mind doing the laundry ... I just don't fold it until I have about 6 loads washed!!

e. I fear surgery BUT my favorite show is Dr. 90210! You have to love Dr. Rey!!

f. I LOVE pictures (and I print almost all of them)!! I already have several ALBUMS of the children and I also have all the pictures on disks (and they are also in albums ... obsesive I know!) I love to look back on all of them. Old school ...

Our Little Family Vacation

The FIRST thing Morgan wanted to do on the beach was to make "Snow Angels" ...

Then the rain (and rain and rain) came ...

This was the night after the rain. It ended up being a BEAUTIFUL night at the Harbor!

Drew had a great time! This was his first time at the beach and he wasn't sure of the sand. We also didn't want him in the sun too much so he spent a lot of time in the room. BUT... he loved it!

This was his FIRST time in the water! He giggled the whole time!

We met some newlyweds from Memphis (they know Aunt Sarah and her sister -- how neat). They built sandcastles with Morgan and also made her into a mermaid. She thought it was so "cool"!

Morgan jumped on the BIG TRAMPOLINE the first night we went to Baytowne Wharf. Then she and Adam danced at Hammerheads with all the other Daddies and Daughters after we ate dinner.
It was a great night!

We went back to Baytowne Wharf our last night. This is Morgan and Drew on the lawn listening to music ...

We also met a WONDERFUL family from Knoxville. Morgan immediately fell in love with Lauren (the one on the right). They spent every day together swimming and having a great time. Lauren is 8 and really taught Morgan some great "big girl" things. Morgan has continued to talk about Lauren since we have been home. Thank you Lauren for being such an angel to Morgan. We hope she "grows up" to be just like you!

I had to share these pictures of Morgan. As we all know, Morgan and "Dog" (Cupcake) are ALWAYS together. I wish I had a picture of them getting their hair cut today. Yes, THEY got their hair cut. "Ms. Leslie" had Cupcake go first. She sat in the booster chair, put her smock on and got her hair trimmed! It was so cute. Then, it was Morgan's turn and she did great (as usual). Ms. Leslie is great with her. She even put piggy tails in before we left ... per Morgan's request!

Saturday Adam and I had a great 11 year anniversary!
I think it was EXACTLY what he wanted to do and I loved it! We spent the weekend playing golf in a 3-Man (Person) Golf Tournament (with Lanier) and had a great time!
